Here is a list of frequently asked questions. If your question isn't listed, you can get answers by e-mailing an officer.
Q. Can I still register my daughter
after the registration deadline?
A. If teams need to be filled, girls can still register. Email the Player
Administration Director and someone will get back to you.
Q. I'm registered, what happens
next.
A. Team assignments will be given out in March. Your coach should contact you
in mid-March with your team information.
Q. When does the season start?
A. For everyone except the seniors, the season opener is at the beginning
of May. Your coach determines when and how often practices are held.
The season ends around July 4.
For seniors, the season starts after school lets out for the summer. Their games are held into August.
Q. Do I have to attend the skill
evaluations?
A. 5th, 6th, and 7th graders are evaluated by their coaches from last
season. If there is no evaluation available, they are placed in a blind draft. There
are separate evaluation for girls interested in pitching and catching.
Q. Could I request a special team
for my daughter?
A. At the instructional levels, teams are organized by school. Teams are rostered up to a maximum of 13 players;
sometimes two or more teams for each school are needed. After the first year of play, girls can usually return to their same teams. Sometimes players
need to be juggled if more girls from a particular school sign-up.
At the 5th and 7th grade levels, all girls enter the draft. Girls in 6th and 8th grade can remain on their same teams. Senior level players (high school) are drafted.
Q. I have
registered my daughter and she can no longer play. How are refunds handled?
A. Refunds which are requested before the season begins are returned at
100% minus a $10.00 administration fee. Refunds requested after the season
begins are refunded on a pro-rated basis, depending on how much of the season
has lapsed. All refund checks are processed after registration for the league is
completed. If you need to request a refund, please contact our
Player Administration
Director.
Q. How do I know if a game is cancelled?
A. Game cancellations are handled by your head coach. Each coach puts a system in place to notify
players.
Q. I've seen some girls and parents with a DOLLS logo on shirts and sweatshirts. Where can I get these?
A. Spiritwear is being handled by a member of the board. Items will be available
at opening night and on picture day.
